We work with any photographic format that can be digitised, including black and white prints, colour prints, slides, transparencies, negatives, Polaroids, and printed photographs from any era or process. Early photographic formats such as daguerreotypes, tintypes, and albumen prints are restored from high-resolution scans of the original.

For best restoration results, scan photographs at a minimum of 600 DPI, or 1200 DPI and above for smaller prints that may need enlarging after restoration. Use the highest quality scan mode available, save as TIFF to preserve file quality, and handle originals with care. Fragile or brittle photos should never be pressed flat on a flatbed scanner.

Yes. We rebuild missing areas using the visual information available from the surrounding image. We match tones, textures, and content patterns to produce results that blend naturally with the original. For areas with significant detail, such as faces or distinctive background features, we may ask for your input before finalising the restoration.

Sure. Colourisation is available alongside restoration or as a standalone service. We apply historically accurate, contextually appropriate colour based on research into period clothing, location details, and available information about the subjects and setting, producing a result that is as historically credible as the reference information allows.

Simple restoration of a single image with minor damage is typically completed within one to two business days. Complex restoration of severely damaged images requiring significant reconstruction may take five to seven business days or longer, depending on the extent of the work. After our initial assessment, we'll give you a timeline based on the specific damage and complexity of your image.
